GT vs MI: GT’s Massive Victory Against MI Breaks A Lot Of Records

MI ‘s losing streak at Ahmedabad

The 5 times champions are yet to open their account at the world’s largest stadium. They played four matches here against GT and lost all four. Interestingly, GT won all four matches while defending the target. MI never chased a target successfully against GT.

Surprisingly, Mumbai has never won a complete match in Gujarat yet. The only win in the state for them came in 2017 against the former team, Gujarat Lions that too in a super over. That match happened at Rajkot.

Toss curse

So far, GT and MI have faced 6 times in IPL history, 4 times at Ahmedabad and 2 times at Wankhede. The hosts have never won the toss so far. MI won the toss 4 times at Ahmedabad, and GT won the toss at Wankhede. The team that won the toss never won the match.

The team that won the toss always chose to field first and failed to chase the target. MI never chased a target at Ahmedabad and it’s vice versa for GT. They never chased a target at Wankhede. The team winning the toss always chose to chase and never won in the battle between these two teams.

Rashid Khan’s short spell

GT’s star bowler Rashid Khan bowled just 2 overs and gave 10 runs. Shubman Gill used Sai Kishore instead of Rashid yesterday. This move worked well as Sai Kishore had a good day yesterday. He finished with the spell of 4-37-1 but bowled the crucial 15th over against Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav and gave just 6 runs.

This is the first time ever that Rashid Khan is not completing his spell against MI. He completed his 4 overs in all the 15 previous encounters against them. This is also the first instance in IPL that Rashid Khan didn’t complete his spell when the opponent batted for the whole 20 overs.
