Captain of GT, Shubman Gill, oozed class as he stood tall and scored 86 quality runs to take the game away from KKR. Shubman Gill looked like a man possessed in the middle. KKR batted first and, thanks to everyone’s inputs, managed to post 180 all out, with Cameron Green scoring a stupendous 79, while Rabada picked up 3 wickets for his side, alongside Siraj’s 2 wickets.
In reply, Gujarat rode on a masterclass from Shubman Gill as the captain led from the front and scored 86 runs while others batted around him to get the job done. Gill got out, but the other players completed the formalities by chasing this down in the final over of the innings. Gill was magical to say the least.
Cameron Green’s stupendous innings takes KKR to 180 in 20 overs
Winning the toss and deciding to bat first, keeper batter Tim Seifert came out to open the batting with captain Ajinkya Rahane while Mohammed Siraj had the ball in hand for GT. Seifert got going straightaway, but just 5 runs were on the board when Rahane was dismissed for a golden duck to Mohammed Siraj. Angkrish Raghuvanshi came out to bat next and got off the mark with a boundary. Seifert continued to play his shots.
The duo of Seifert and Raghuvanshi added 16 runs for the second wicket before Raghuvanshi fell for 8 off 4 balls with a couple of boundaries to his name to Kagiso Rabada. Cameron Green came out to bat next. Seifert did not last long after getting a start, as another 11 runs were added to the tally before Seifert fell for 19 off 14 balls with 2 fours and one six to his name to Rabada yet again. Rovman Powell came out to bat next.
KKR were 37/3 in 6 overs of power play. Green and Powell started to get themselves in and then built up a stand by upping the run rate. They played through the initial part of the middle phase and added 55 runs for the 4th wicket before Powell fell for 27 off 20 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes to his name to Ashok Sharma. Anukul Roy came out to bat next.

Cameron Green upped the ante now and was a player on a different level. Green now did the heavy lifting and scored the bulk of the runs from here. He added a crucial 60-run stand for the 5th wicket before Anukul fell after contributing a mere 9 off 7 balls with one boundary to his name to Prasidh Krishna. Rinku Singh came out to bat next. Chasing 181 for the win, Sai Sudharsan and captain Shubman Gill came out to bat for the Gujarat Titans while Vaibhav Arora had the ball in hand for the KKR. Good cricketing shots were played by the duo. They added a half-century stand for the first wicket inside 5 overs. They were 57/0 in 5 overs before Sudharsan fell for 22 off 16 balls with one four and two sixes to his name to Sunil Narine.

Another 19 runs were added to the score before Phillips fell for 19 off 16 balls with 2 fours to his name to Ramandeep Singh.
