The former English fast bowler Monty Panesar gave an unexpected statement on the Indian left-hand batter Sai Sudarshan. Sai Sudharsan is expected to bat at the top of the order given his unique batting skills. Sai Sudharsan can be a vital cog given he has earlier played for Surrey in England’s County cricket and he knows the conditions quite well.

“There are some really good youngsters in the team at the moment. One particular batsman is a Surrey player, Sai Sudharsan. He looks very aggressive and fearless. He’s a player who’s done well in English conditions and for Surrey. I think he could be the next superstar of Indian cricket and take on the role that Virat Kohli did at number four,”

The 23-year-old batsman in this IPL season showed his refined skills for the Gujarat Titans. In the Indian Premier League career, he made 1793 runs out of 40 matches on behalf of the Gujarat Titans. Sudarshan has been seen three times in ODI matches. In IPL season 25, he won the Orange cap following 759 runs out of 14 matches at a strike rate of 156.17. Along with the Fantasy King of the Season award, he has been named the emerging popular player in India.

Monty Panesar picks the player to carry forward the legacy of Virat Kohli

The former bowler wants to keep Virat Kohli’s legacy in the Indian cricket squad as it was before. However, after Kohli’s early retirement shattered the Panekar, although. He said,

“The one thing I’d like to do is carry on the legacy of Virat Kohli. The way he played Test cricket, I would like to see the young Indian Test player like that,”

Virat Kohli is the most successful and popular Indian batsman who led the Indian squad in the test series as a captain. As a batter, he made 9230 runs in his 123 test matches, which is commendable. His absence will hurt India massively as he used to bring unthinkable energy in the ground.
