Young Indian wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel talks about his learning inspired by Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli completed 16 years of his career in International cricket.
Virat Kohli has been always sought as an inspiration among many budding cricketers and youngsters across nations. The 35-year-old holds a strong stance in the Indian cricket team. Virat Kohli debuted on August 18, 2008, and has not looked back since then. The star veteran batter holds multiple records to his name. He is the fastest to score to 8000-12000 runs in ODI cricket. In addition, he has 80 centuries to his name and stands first on the list to complete 50 ODI hundreds.

Dhruv Jurel recently put forward his admiration for Virat Kohli. The 23-year-old cricketer seeks leanings from the veteran cricketer. Dhruv also mentioned Virat Kohli’s aura around him and said he only talks about cricket to him. The talented wicket-keeper also noted Virat’s presence in International cricket for 15 years and his consistent domination over the years. Dhruv Jurel expressed him as his inspiration and looks forward to incorporating his power into the game. Talking to Sportstak, Dhruv Jurel said,
“I always try to learn because he is a legend of cricket. So I think how he was made, what he did in the background. Always curious to learn new things. So whenever I talked to him, I only talked about cricket and when you are around him, you feel that aura that Virat Kohli is there.” He further added,
“So that is a good thing that we feel that we have to do something that we also feel that people have come to ask, that there is aura. Because he has played for like 15 years for India and he has always dominated. So that thing is very inspiring. So I will try to bring that thing in,”
Furthermore, Talking about Rohit Sharma, Dhruv Jurel called him very chill by nature. He mentioned that Rohit Sharma doesn’t differentiate between senior and junior. Dhruv Jurel said that Rohit Sharma is a very comfortable person to be around. He added,
“To be honest he (Rohit) is very chill. He will talk to you. He is not like you are a senior or junior. He always talks very casually. If you need any help just come over. I don’t have any problem. He is normal. He makes you feel comfortable,”
Dhruv Jurel, the 23-year-old talented wicket-keeper hailing from Agra, caught the eyes during Indian Premier League(IPL) 2023. In the 2022 Ipl auctions, he was bought by the Rajasthan Royals franchise. Dhruv Jurel made his Ipl debut in 2023 against the Punjab Kings on April 5th, 2023, in Guwahati. The wicket-keeper batter scored 32 off 15 deliveries. His performance in the debut match made his stance strong in the team.
In the home Test against England earlier this year, Dhruv Jurel made his International debut. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Dhruv Jurel played his first Test match on February 15th, 2024. Dhruv was included in the third Test against England in Rajkot. The youngster scored 190 runs in four innings in three Test matches with an average of 63.33. His highest score was 90 off 149 balls against England. Dhruv Jurel’s first International call-up for the T20Is was against Zimbabwe in July this year. The youngster could merely score six runs off his bat.
