Delhi Capitals (DC) are looking for a team to beat after winning 6 matches out of 8. The Axar Patel side has been quite instrumental and has used their resources smartly. The way DC chased down 160 with 8 wickets in hand & with ample overs left (2.1 overs), which showed the volumes of experience and maturity in the side. KL Rahul youngest to 5000 runs in IPL
KL Rahul, who has received brutal criticism from fans and experts over the years for his strike rate. KL Rahul, though this edition has reinvented himself he needed 51 runs against his former LSG side to go past 5000 runs. KL Rahul had come into bat after DC got off to a flyer with 36-1 in 3.4 overs.
The dew was quite visible, which made life hard for bowlers and fielders. KL Rahul was quite calm & composed in his batting approach as the required run rate wasn’t a big issue. In the 18th over, KL Rahul smashed his 40th IPL half century and also got to 5000 runs. KL Rahul’s mindset in this IPL has been quite mysterious, where he has taken the role of anchor and aggressor, and acclimatized to the conditions and scenarios, also very smartly.
KL Rahul attained the feat in 130 innings, going past David Warner, who was the fastest to 5000 IPL runs with 135 innings. It finally looks like we all are seeing the 2.0 version of KL Rahul, who looks on a mission to prove everyone wrong after a wonderful ICC CT 2025.

Mitchell Starc gets the wood over Nicholas Pooran again
The much-anticipated battle was between Mitchell Starc & Nicholas Pooran in the LSG vs DC clash. Earlier, when LSG played in Delhi against DC, Starc had crashed Pooran’s stumps by bowling an inswinging delivery. LSG’s score was 87 when Nicholas Pooran came in to bat on a not-so-sluggish track.
Axar Patel astoundingly brought Mitchell Starc for his third over in the 12th over of the match. Starc played mind games with Pooran, and a slower short delivery forced Pooran to go for a pull shot, but he got bowled. Starc sent back Pooran to the dugout when he scored 9 runs in 5 balls and struck 2 fours, and was getting into the zone. Mitchell Starc has dismissed Pooran 5 times out of 7 in T20s, which is immense.
Mitchell Marsh’s 1000 runs in IPL
Mitchell Marsh has been in sublime form in IPL 2025 with amassing 344 runs in 8 innings and smashing 4 half centuries, whose stroke-play has been breathtaking for the viewers across the world. Mitchell Marsh against RR got out cheaply, as there were high hopes from the flamboyant batter against DC.
Mitchell Marsh & Aiden Markram looked as if they reversed their roles as Markram took on the charge while Marsh made sure that the scorecard kept ticking around. Mitchell Marsh missed out on his half century but got to 1000 runs in the IPL. Marsh’s knock of 45 runs in 36 balls laid the foundation for batters, but the rest batters couldn’t capitalize. It’s quite shocking to see that Mitchell Marsh made his IPL debut way back in 2010 for the then Deccan Chargers. Coincidentally, Marsh was playing his 50th IPL game, and he crossed the 1000-run mark in his 44th inning, with an average of 24.02 while striking at 137.27.
