DC vs GT: When Titans Roared, and Delhi Drowned

The 60th IPL 2025 match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans was a thrilling encounter. GT chased down 200 runs in 19 overs without losing wicket. KL Rahul’s century anchored DC’s innings, while a strong GT chased the target. The result also contributed to confirming GT  for the playoffs. The match was part of the season’s first double-header after the restart.

At Arun Jaitley, under fading light,

Titans won the toss, chose to bowl with might.

DC stood tall, led by KL’s flame,

A century strong, but not the winning name.

Faf du Plessis stood by, calm and wise,

While Abishek Porel watched with keeper’s eyes.

Axar, the captain, with allround grace,

Guided his side in the scoring race.

Tristan Stubbs, bold with willow in hand,

Sameer Rizvi, trying to make his stand.

Ashutosh Sharma brought youthful fire,

Kuldeep, Mustafizur, and T Natarajan conspired.

Vipraj Nigam, with rhythm and swing,

And Prasidh Krishna let his pace sting.

But DC’s best wasn’t quite enough

GT made the chase look smooth, not tough.

Shubman Gill, a captain so cool,

And Sai Sudharsan, elegant like a duel.

They danced past the target, stroke by stroke,

As Delhi’s hopes in silence broke.

Rashid Khan waited, a silent guard,

Tewatia and Shahrukh on their charge card.

Buttler, though unused, stayed ever keen,

Rutherford, too, part of this winning machine.

Rabada, Siraj, with ball in hand,

And Arshad, Kishore,a fierce bowling band.

Titans, tonight, roared loud and wide

A ten-wicket win, with grace and pride.

In Lucknow’s glare, the Capitals roared,

Rahul stood tall, and boundaries soared.

112 not out — a captain’s flame,

Carving his legacy into the game.

Porel flicked, Stubbs fired late,

199 seemed a winning fate.

But silent warnings the winds did send,

For the chase had not met its end.

Siraj to Du Plessis — a short-lived tale,

Porel danced but Sai made him pale.

Axar swung, but not for long,

Prasidh’s seam ended his song.

Then came the Titans — ruthless, grand,

With bat in grip and fate in hand.

Sai Sudharsan, serene and bold,

Crafted 108, like art retold.

Gill stood royal, eyes full of gleam,

Seven sixes — a captain’s dream.

Together they carved through every spell,

Where Delhi bowed, Titans fell no shell.

No wicket broke, no scare, no stutter,

They chased with fire, no need to flutter.

205 on board, six balls to spare,

A ten-wicket win — pure, rare air.

Now whispers spread across the ground,

Of Titans’ chase — a roaring sound.

And Delhi wonders what could’ve been,

If not for that majestic, flawless scene.
