Border Gavaskar Trophy will be commencing on November 22, the hype for this has been created quite early, whenever India and Australia face each other it’s like a war-type situation both teams dominate over each other. Australia haven’t been able to win Test Series in their own back yard after losing twice back to back in 2018-19 & 2020-21 that too quite convincing.
Australia has given us ample bad memories in the last year. Like the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup 2023 which we as Indians will never forget forever. Australia though is someone who takes Test cricket very seriously which is the pinnacle of the sport but the main question for chief selector George Bailey will be to manage the workload of Starc, Hazlewood and skipper Cummins.
Ricky Ponting on Khaleel Ahmed
Ricky Ponting has been the phenomenal coach for Delhi Capitals and recently he parted ways with Delhi Capitals after 7 years, under his legacy many players became stars for India, and now they are doing well for India, players like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, etc. One of the key players who represented India in 2018 was the left-handed pacer, Khaleel Ahmed, he joined the squad once again and now he is proving the skills that he has here recent Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka series his performance was quite good. As the Australia tour has time India will gear-up for their next series which is against Bangladesh on September 19. If Khaleel Ahmed gets a chance to play in a white jersey then he will be ready for Australia since he has been to Australia for a white ball series but he hasn’t played in red-ball format, being a lefty he may benefit from rolling his arm on bouncy pitches. Ricky Ponting said:
“Someone like Khaleel Ahmed I think could find himself on the Test tour. A left-arm would be ideal for them to have in their touring squad. I know he’s just been over in Zimbabwe recently and played that (T20I) series over there, but a left-armer would be ideal for them to have in their touring squad,” Ponting said on the most recent edition of the ICC Review.
