Ajinkya Naik Becomes Youngest Ever President Of MCA At 37, Beats Sanjay Naik

Ajinkya Naik has been elected as the youngest-ever president of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). The 37-year-old defeated Sanjay Naik to acquire the position.

In a one-sided poll on Tuesday, Mumbai BJP chairman Ashish Shelar’s nominee Ajinkya Naik, Sanjay Naik, lost to 37-year-old Ajinkya Naik. Ajinkya’s total number of votes was 221, against Sanjay Naik’s 114. Ajinkya Naik won by 107 votes. Presently serving as Association officers, the Naik’s were both in office. Under the leadership of Amole Kale, Ajinkya was the association secretary. In light of Kale’s passing last month, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) was forced to announce an election for president. Ajinkya, a former cricket player for his school and club, was chosen a the MCA secretary in 2022 after serving as a member of the MCA Apex Council in 2019.

Ajinkya Naik thanked the voters who supported him. In addition, he said that the triumph is evidence of the outstanding accomplishment of Anmol Kale. Moreover, Ajinkya further stated that in order to carry on his legacy and raise the caliber of Mumbai Cricket, he shall make an attempt to match his devotion and dedication. He said,

“I thank all the voters who voted in my favour. The victory is a testament to Amol Kale’s exemplary achievement. My efforts will be to replicate his commitment and dedication to improving the quality of Mumbai cricket and take his legacy forward”

Furthermore, Ajinkya dedicated the victory to Mumbai Maidan and their club secretaries. He also said that he has almost ten years of experience serving on many committees. He also compared his journey to a pyramid. Lastly, he was also satisfied with the outcome, just what he had anticipated. Ajinkya further talked about hidden forces that led him to achieve the position. The 37-year-old mentioned Sharad Pawar as his guru. In addition, he also said that they have been keeping up with him for a while now. he said,

“It’s a win for Mumbai maidan and their club secretaries as I’m just one of them. I have been part of various committees for more than one decade. My journey has been one of a pyramid. The result came per my expectations”

“There were a lot of unseen powers, and slowly you will come to know who they were . Our mentor is Sharad Pawar sir. We have been following him for long now”

Ajinkya also mentioned that the cricket players of Mumbai work on temporary contracts rather than having permanent careers. Therefore, He will make a proposal to corporations and government agencies to hire Mumbai players. He said,

“Mumbai cricketers do not have regular jobs, they are merely temporary contract employment. I will request the government organisations and corporates to employ Mumbai players”

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) also congratulated Ajinkya Naik on his victory. On X (previously known as Twitter), the MCA handle posted,

“Heartiest Congratulations to Mr. Ajinkya Naik who has been elected as the President of the Mumbai Cricket Association in the MCA elections held today”
