Gujarat Titans produced a bowling masterclass against Sunrisers Hyderabad and registered a massive 82-run win to stay at the top of the IPL 2026 points table. Defending 168 runs, GT’s pace attack completely destroyed SRH as Hyderabad were bowled out for just 86 runs in only 14.5 overs.
GT’s pacers decimate SRH
The tone of the chase was set in the very first over by Mohammed Siraj. The fast bowler removed Travis Head for a duck with a brilliant delivery and bowled a wicket-maiden over to put SRH under immediate pressure. Siraj looked sharp from the start and kept attacking the stumps with pace and movement. He finished with 12 dot balls, making it extremely difficult for Hyderabad’s batters to settle.
Once Siraj created the pressure, Kagiso Rabada took full control of the game. The South African pacer ripped through SRH’s top and middle order with aggressive bowling and perfect lengths. Rabada picked up 3 wickets for 28 runs in his 4-over spell and was rightly awarded the player of the Match. His spell completely changed the momentum of the game as SRH kept losing wickets regularly without building any partnership.
GT’s dominance continued in the middle overs through Jason Holder. Using his height and hard lengths smartly, Holder generated extra bounce and seam movement from the pitch. SRH batters struggled to time the ball against him, and he ended up bowling the maximum number of dot balls during the middle phase of the innings. His tight spell ensured that Hyderabad never got a chance to rebuild the innings after the early collapse.
Prasidh Krishna’s rise
Another positive moment for Gujarat Titans was the return of Prasidh Krishna. Playing his comeback match after injury, Prasidh looked confident with the ball and helped GT wrap up the innings quickly. He maintained good pace and discipline, adding more pressure on the struggling SRH batters & ended up with 2 wickets for 23 runs in 3 overs.
Earlier in the match, Sai Sudharsan played an important knock of 61 runs to help Gujarat Titans post 168/5 in 20 overs. Though the total looked competitive, the real difference came from GT’s fast bowling attack, which completely outclassed Hyderabad in every phase of the chase.
SRH’s batting line-up, known for aggressive stroke play this season, failed badly under pressure, from the first over itself, they looked uncomfortable against Gujarat’s disciplined bowling. The team eventually collapsed for only 86 runs, suffering one of their biggest defeats of IPL 2026.
With this dominant victory, Gujarat Titans strengthened their position at the top of the points table with 16 points. More importantly, their pace attack once again showed why GT remain one of the strongest teams in the tournament this season.
