The former South African wicketkeeper and batter AB de Villiers has congratulated the whole South African team win in the WTC final 2025 against Australia. South Africa defeated Australia with just 5 wickets on 14th June at Lord’s. AB de Villiers delighted with South Africa’s WTC championship win
On the 4th day of the WTC 2023-25 Test match, South Africa beat Australia by 5 wickets. In the four-day test, Australia challenged its opponent squad with 282 runs to chase. In 1st innings, Australia made 212 runs. Aussie tough players like Steven Smith and Beau Webster made 66 and 72, respectively.
South Africa, on the other hand, only made 138. However, in the last innings, South African batters Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma partnered up and made 136 and 66 separately.
Australia vs South Africa WTC 2025 game undeniably created heat at the end of their first innings. However, on the last day of the match, the game took a turn, and South African players played well together as a unit. Especially Aiden Markram and captain Temba Bavuma, despite his hamstring injury, have played hard to remain in the field till the end.
On the victory of South Africa in the WTC Final 2025, the former cricketer AB de Villiers shared a heartfelt note via social media on X by congratulating the whole of South Africa. He wrote,

Aiden Markram ecstatic with 2023-25 WTC Win
One of the important South African batters, Aiden Markram, has won the title ‘man of the match in the World Test Championship Final 2025 against Australia. Markram played a major role in the final. He made 136 runs under pressure, partnered up with captain Temba(66). After earning ‘Man of the Match’, he shared his experience about how miraculously everything worked out in his favour after a duck in the first innings. He said,
“Haven’t scored more important runs. Weird how things worked out after a duck in the first innings. Need a bit of luck, spent some time in the middle and found runs, glad things worked out. Reception will stick out. Lord’s is the place every Test cricketer wants to play. To play a final here is incredibly special. Plenty of SA fans who’ve made it through, plenty at home too, it’s one of the most special days.”
Australia versus South Africa WTC Final 2025 was a momentous match. Finally, South Africa won the WTC Final against one of its formidable squads, Australia!
