The performance of South African all-rounder Aiden Markram has earned the team more runs against Australia in ICC World Test Championship 2025. Proteas batting coach Ashwell Prince identified him as ‘man for the big occassion.’ Aiden Markram has scored 102 runs and now Proteas are just touching distance of 69 runs to win ICC WTC 2023-25 championship.

South African one of the strong cricketer Aiden Markram most likely demonstrated his batting talent in ICC ground against Australia which was speechless. South Africa scored 213 runs while Australia scored 282 runs. Due to Aiden Markram and captain Temba Bavuma unbeatable performance, South Africa is a step closer to winning the match definitely. On Markram’s performance, South African batting coach Ashwell Prince stated that.
“We certainly know he is someone for the big occasion, of that there is no doubt,”
Aiden Markram brawled with his emotions on the ground during his centuries. The batting coach told that he has fixed a tiny technical work to get success in the field. coach prince has informed via ANI, he said,
“He has done some technical work, but not a lot. In the last little while, he has had a tendency to push his hands away from his body and cut across the ball, but it was not a big fix. And as soon as he saw a few videos, it was simple,”
“I think [coach] Shukri Conrad deserves credit for staying calm. It is one of his strengths.” He added.
While praising Markam’s well performance against Australia in ICC World Test Championship’25,prince also uttered about captain Temba’s excellent batting style. He quoted,
“As soon as Aiden and Temba came up the stairs, he said we need to do the same tonight as we always do, and tomorrow we do the same warm up. It’s the same processes. We understand the magnitude and what’s at stake, but now we stay calm.”
Ashwell Prince opens up on Temba Bavuma’s health condition
On ICC WTC 2025, for South Africa squad, the two players who helped the team to help them to dream of winning the game against the most strongest team Australia. Aiden Markram and Temba Buvama. Markram made 102 off 159 and Temba made 65 off 121.
Ashwell Prince revealed that they soon retired Temba; however, Temba insisted they carry on the game. He said,
“It is not done yet, but he has had to fight throughout his career, and this could be a defining moment for his career,”
“It is the biggest stage in test cricket. He is tough, Aiden has great respect for Temba, and I think this team’s greatest asset is the unit,” batting coach added.
The South African batting coach credited all the players for their unity and for supporting each other in his critical stage. He said,
“You only have to look at how they celebrate a wicket to understand that. They are all aware that south Africa have had greater individual players, but they have something special going on in the dressing room, and it helps them drag each other along.”
Now the remaining 69 runs is not what the Proteas are worried about. However, their biggest challenge is their batting style. In South Africa cricket career, this is the biggest achievement in ICC World Test Championship 2025 against Australia.
