DC’s flop second half
DC concluded their season in the 5th place like an average Indian film with a blockbuster first half and mediocre second half.
They won their first and four matches and failed to win four more in Their next 10 matches. This is the first time IPL History a team which won their first four matches has failed to qualify for the playoffs.
14 year old power house
14 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals this season. He also marked his name in his debut season by scoring a 35-ball century against GT in his second match. Sooryavanshi now holds the record fastest century by an Indian in IPL.
Defend 200, not this time
Mumbai Indians held the record of successfully defending 200-plus totals in IPL history. They have never lost a match when they scored 200-plus in the league.
They had a 100% winning streak in 18 matches. But, it was broken by PBKS in the Qualifier 2 when they chased 204 against them. MI’s streak was broken in an important knockout match.
Chepauk Conquered
Chepauk Stadium has been the fortress for the Chennai Super Kings. But it was broken into pieces and Conquered by the opponents this year.
- RCB beat CSK at Chepauk for the first time after 2008.
- DC beat CSK at Chepauk for the first time after 2010.
- KKR beat CSK at Chepauk for the first time after 2012.
- For the first time in history, CSK lost 5 consecutive matches at their home ground.
- For the first time they lost both the league games against RCB.
- For the first time CSK finished at the bottom of the table.
- This season has been a complete nightmare for CSK. Hope they come back stronger next year.
Run Feast
This season has been run Feast for batters, but there are matches where the pitches offered equal assistance to the bowlers as well.
Teams have scored 200-plus for a record 51 times this season. The previous best was 41 times in 2024.
Shreyas Iyer’s redemption
Shreyas Iyer who led the KKRA team which won the trophy last year has been released by them ahead of the mega auction. PBKS bought Shreyas for a whopping price of 26.75 Cr, and Iyer justified his price tag by scoring 604 runs and taking Punjab to the finals after 11 years.
He became the first captain to take 3 different teams to IPL Finals

17- year wait is over
RCB has clinched their first ever IPL trophy in 17 years. This season has aligned the stars perfectly for them. RCB won all their 7 away games. First team ever to do in the history of the league.
GT had won 6 out of their 7 away league games in 2023. RCB has broken that record now. RCB’s 17 years wait is the longest wait for a team to lift the trophy in franchise T20 league. DC or PBKS might break this record if they win the title in the upcoming seasons.
Rajat Patidar becomes the join fastest captain to win the trophy along with Rohit Sharma.
Both the captains touched the trophy in their first season in their 13th match as captain.
