RCB thrashed PBKS in a one-sided encounter in Qualifier 1 and entered the Finals for the 4th time in IPL history. They made it there for the first time in 9 years. RCB quite easily chased down the target of 102 runs in 10 overs with 8 wickets in hand. RCB’s last appearance in the finals was in 2016, where they lost to SRH. Let’s look at the records being shattered during the encounter.
Most appearances in the finals
This is the fourth time RCB has qualified for the finals in the IPL. They joined KKR to become the third team with the most appearances in the finals.
Teams with the most appearances in the finals :
- CSK – 10 ( 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023 )
- MI – 6 ( 2010, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020 )
- KKR – 4 ( 2012, 2014, 2021, 2024 )

- PBKS – 1 ( 2014 )
- DC – 1 ( 2020 )
- DCH – 1 ( 2009 )

RCB is the only team to appear in multiple finals and hasn’t won a single trophy yet. RCB fans would be hoping that they change this unwanted record this time.
Lowest score in Qualifier 1
This playoff system was introduced in the 2011 IPL season. Before that, it was in a knockout format. Since then, this is the lowest score by a team batting first in Qualifier 1.
Lowest 1st innings score in Qualifier 1 :
- PBKS 101 vs RCB ( 2025, at Mullanpur )
- CSK 131/4 vs MI ( 2019, at Chennai )
- SRH 139/7 vs CSK ( 2018, at Wankhede )
Interestingly, the top two lowest scores were scored in the home ground of those teams.
If you take the overall Playoffs, this is the second-lowest total.
Lowest total in IPL Playoffs :
- DD – 87 all out vs RR ( 2008 , Semi finals )
- LSG – 101 all out vs MI ( 2023, Eliminator )
- PBKS – 101 all out vs RCB ( 2025, Qualifier 1 )
- DCH (*the then Deccan Chargers Hyderabad) – 104 all out vs CSK ( 2010, semi finals )
- KKR – 107 all out vs MI ( 2017, qualifier 2 )
