KKR vs CSK : Records Galore After CSK’s Heart-Stopping Win Over KKR

CSK finally clinched a victory this season, facing 4 straight defeats after their second win against LSG. They also ended their 180-plus chasing curse, chasing it after losing half of their side inside the powerplay, taking the game deeper, and giving a typical CSK match to their fans.

Ending the 180 curse

This is the first time since 2018 that CSK has successfully chased a target of 180. The last time they did it was against SRH in 2018, where they chased the same 180 in a league match. After that, CSK couldn’t chase it for 12 games. They have crossed the line in the 13th attempt.

This is the second-longest streak of a team not chasing 180-plus runs consecutively. PBKS tops this list.

Varun Chakravarthy completed 100 wickets in the IPL yesterday. He achieved this feat in 82 innings. He became the fastest spinner to take 100 wickets in IPL in terms of innings.

CSK were well ahead in the run-rate in the chase, but couldn’t control the wicket flow. MS Dhoni came in at no.8, when CSK are 127/6 in 12.1 overs. CSK required just 53 runs from 47 balls, but this was the last recognized batting pair. MS Dhoni and Dube were in the middle.

They decided to take the game deeper. Dube took some chances to hit boundaries, and Dhoni held the other end. When Dube got out in the 19th over. The responsibility came on Dhoni’s shoulders now. He had his nerves and hit the most important six in the last over to seal the match for CSK.

He remained unbeaten in the chase. This is the 31st time Dhoni has remained not out in a successful run-chase in IPL. Most by any player. He also became the first batter in IPL to remain not out in 100 innings.
