The Indian team completed their warm-up match and had a comprehensive 60-run win and through these many positive things, we got to see that Rishabh Pant is making a comeback after 16 months suffered from an accident. Hardik Pandya also showed his classy knock and proved that he is back. The bowling department was up to the mark and every bowler adhered to his words. India will start their campaign on June 5 against Ireland and will try to dominate the World Cup with their approach.
Aakash Chopra’s concern about Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube
Indian team is ready to kickstart their tournament with a bang and since they have played a warm-up match some positives have made everyone curious to know whether Rohit Sharma will lift this time T20 World Cup and break the jinx. Being a new pitch it was a sand pitch so it was difficult to bat on the surface still India batted well enough on that surface despite playing for the first time in New York.
Everything is looking good except for Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube, ace commentator Aakash Chopra has shown his concern over this two players regarding their shot execution. In IPL, Shivam Dube had a great time with the bat and so he was selected for his form. Ravindra Jadeja had a decent season yet scored runs with the bat since he has experience so he too was selected in the squad. In the warm-up match, Shivam Dube scored just 14 runs and Ravindra Jadeja scored 6 runs in 4 balls. Aakash Chopra says:
“One thing was slightly negative. We shouldn’t say negative but we expected a little better. Shivam Dube’s bat wasn’t striking the ball, which is not a good thing. Since Shivam Dube made two successive zeroes, the same Shivam Dube hasn’t been seen,” he elaborated.
“You want him to be in form because the number at which he is going to bat, he won’t get the time to find form. In my opinion, there is a question mark whether Ravindra Jadeja can play the finisher’s role. So that could be a slight problem. My main concern will be Jadeja’s batting form and Shivam Dube’s form,” the former India opener added.
Let’s hope that they regain the form in the first match and keep it throughout the World Cup.
