Shubman Gill smashed 269 runs yesterday, which is the highest score by an Indian captain, and the 7th highest score by an Indian batter in test cricket. He broke many records with his marathon performance.

India were struggling at 211/5 at one point, with losing Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy in back-to-back deliveries. He stood with the Captain and made a huge partnership of 203 runs for the 6th wicket. He got out for 89 runs, missed his second century at Edgbaston by 11 runs.

This is the 3rd time, Jadeja has been involved in a 200-plus run partnership for the 6th wicket or below in test cricket. Only three players have involved in more such partnerships in the lower order.
