West Indies has got potential to succeed but they are not clicking at the right time. Their last T20 World Cup was a disastrous one where the team was completely outplayed. Since the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2021, West Indies has played 24 matches and won only 7 out of them.
Squad: Nicholas Pooran (c), Rovman Powell, Yannic Cariah, Johnson Charles, Sheldon Cottrell, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Kyle Mayers, Obed McCoy, Raymon Reifer, Odean Smith, Shamarh Brooks.
Strengths
West Indies has got some exciting fast bowlers present in the form of Alzarri Joseph. The lanky fast bowler along with Jason Holder can give tough times to bowlers. Jason Holder knows how to contain the batters with tricky variations and at the same time he can also guide the team in the middle overs.

Weaknesses
The batting lineup of West Indies has a lot of power hitters, but the batting unit doesn’t do justice to their talent. Spin is their biggest weakness which won’t be a big factor; however, the wrist spinners can perturb them. Skipper Nicholas Pooran has to take responsibility of leading the team as going bang-bang is not a sustainable way in T20I Cricket.

Chances
West Indies is placed in a competitive group of Group B. The Men in Maroon will have to be calculative while taking risks as in Australia the boundaries are big. The problem with the West Indies batting lineup is that they want a particular batter to win the match single-handedly.
As usual, West Indies has had a history of losing wickets in packets. West Indies will have to play very badly to not qualify. The team had recently played a T20I Series against Australia in Australia where their performance was decent. Given that, they are the favorites to enter the marquee event.
