The change follows the completion of Dilip’s contractual tenure, which expired after the recent white-ball tour of the United Kingdom. Confirming the development, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated: “Yes. His (Dilip’s) one-year extension has ended.” With Ryan ten Doeschate also stepping down from his assistant coach role, Subhadeep Ghosh’s arrival completes a key administrative adjustment in the support staff alongside batting coach Sitanshu Kotak and bowling coach Morne Morkel.

Hailing from Digboi in Assam, the 57-year-old played 17 First-Class and 17 List A fixtures for Assam and Railways as a right-handed middle-order batter and off-spinner between 1994 and 2005.
