SRH vs RR: Praful Hinge’s Dream 4-Wicket Haul Dismantles RR

Debutant Praful Hinge came out of the syllabus and troubled RR really well. Praful Hinge really blew the top order away totally. Hinge was at his best on debut with nothing to lose and everything to gain, and he made the most of it. At first, SRH hatted first here, and thanks to a sparkling 91 by Ishan Kishan and good, ample support from Heinrich Klaasen, they took the score beyond 200 and finished with 216/6 in 20 overs.

Then, with the ball, Praful Hinge and impact player Sakib Hussain came onto bowl. Hinge gave a triple blow to the opposition, managing to take three wickets in the first over. Hussain chipped in, and there was no looking back for the Orange Army. The game was over at 9/5. But RR through Ferreira and Jadeja managed to get to 159 in 19 overs. But they lost the contest by 57 runs.

Ishan Kishan’s magical 91 powers SRH to a massive 216/6

Put into bat first, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head came out to bat for SRH while Jofra Archer had the ball in hand for RR. SRH got to the worst possible start as they lost Abhishek off the first ball of the match for a golden duck to Archer. Captain Ishan Kishan came out to bat next. Ishan was off the blocks and looked fluent from the get-go. The same cannot be said of Travis Head, who looked scratchy for his stay in the middle.

But Ishan took the matter into his own hands and upped the ante a little bit. The duo made sure that SRH crossed 50 inside the powerplay and were 51/1 in 6 overs of powerplay. The duo put on 55 for the second wicket before Head fell to captain Riyan Parag for 18 off 18 balls with 3 fours to his name. Heinrich Klaasen came out to bat next. It was Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen who laid the base for a big total for SRH from here in the middle phase of the game.

Ishan soon completed his fifty in 30 balls while Klaasen complemented him really well out there. Both played at a fair tempo and increased the scoring rate a lot. Both of them aced the middle phase of the game and laid the base for the end overs. The 100 came up in 10.3 overs. The middle overs went the way of SRH thanks to Ishan and Klaasen. Ishan was just unstoppable and looked for a ton. The duo put on 88 for the third wicket before Ishan fell 9 short of his hundred as he made 91 off 44 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes to his name to Sandeep Sharma. Nitish Kumar Reddy came out to bat next.

Klaasen and Reddy tried to forge a partnership and got the score past 150 inside 15 overs. Klaasen and Reddy put on 19 runs for the 4th wicket before Klaasen fell for a well-made 40 off 26 balls with one four and three sixes to his name. Salil Arora came out to bat next. Reddy played some exquisite shots as the duo tried to apply the finishing kick to the innings. They played some lusty blows for fours and sixes.

Reddy looked good, and so did Arora. The duo added 33 runs for the 5th wicket before Reddy’s cameo ended at 28 off 13 balls with 4 sixes to his name to Archer, who induced the outside edge to the keeper. Aniket Verma came out to bat next. Salil decided to take matters into their own hands and hit some lusty blows to take the team past the 200-run mark. The duo added 14 runs to the tally before Aniket was run out for 6 off 5 balls with one boundary to his name.

Harsh Dubey came out to bat next. Arora hit a last-ball maximum to finish the innings in style. SRH finished with 216/6 in 20 overs. Salil Arora remained unbeaten on 24 off 13 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes to his name, while Harsh was unbeaten for 0 off 0 balls. Just 9 extras given by the fielding side.

Jofra Archer finished with 2/37 in 4 overs. Tushar Deshpande finished with 1/55 in 4 overs. Sandeep Sharma finished with 1/52 in 4 overs. Riyan Rarag finished with 1/5 in the solitary over. Nandre Burger finished with 0/31 in 4 overs. Ravi Bishnoi finished with 0/35 in 3 overs. This meant that RR needed 217 runs to win to make it 5 wins in 5 games. SRH are desperate for a win as well. We will see how the RR went about their reply.

Praful Hinge & Sakib Hussain’s 4-wicket hauls blow away RR

Chasing 217 for the win, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi came out to open for RR while Praful Hinge had the ball in hand for SRH. The RR got off to the worst possible start as Vaibhav fell for a golden duck as an Impact Player to Hinge. But Hinge was just getting started now. Keeper batter Dhruv Jurel came and went back to the hut for a silver duck after being cleaned up. Lhuan Dre Pretorius came out to bat next and went for another silver duck to Hinge. Ravindra Jadeja came out to bat next.

Hinge had a dream start as he picked up 3 wickets in the over. Another wicket fell soon, as 3 wickets had fallen on the score of 1. Just one more run was added to the tally before Jaiswal too fell for 1 off 5 balls to Sakib Hussain. Captain Riyan Parag came out to bat next. Parag managed to hit a boundary as well. The duo added 7 runs to the tally before Parag fell for 4 off 6 balls with one boundary to his name to Hinge as the RR team was 9/5 in 3 overs.

Donovan Ferreira came out to bat at 7. Jadeja and Ferreira had all to do now, and from RR’s point of view, they did so as well. Jadeja and Ferreira played their shots and saved RR from a proper thrashing as they played through the powerplay overs at the start to take the score to 40/5 in 6 overs. But then the game was as good as over. The middle phase was ace by the Jadeja-Ferreira duo as they made sure they did not lose wickets in that phase.

Donovan was the aggressor of the two, while Jadeja complemented him really well. The duo added a solid 118 runs for the 6th wicket before Ferreira fell for an excellent 69 off 44 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes to his name to Hussain. Jofra Archer came out to bat next. Jadeja also did not last long after this, as he fell for 45 off 32 balls with 5 fours to his name to Eshan Malinga. Tushar Deshpande came out to bat next.

Deshpande used the long handle and took the attack to the opposition. Archer and Deshpande added 11 runs for the 8th wicket before Archer fell for 2 off 5 balls to Hussain. Ravi Bishnoi came out to bat next. Hussain got two in two balls, as Bishnoi was dismissed for a golden duck. Nandre Burger came out to bat next with the score at 140/9 in 17 overs.

Deshpande used the long handle while Burger hung in at the other end. Deshpande did well to add 19 runs for the last wicket before he fell for 25 off 11 balls with 3 sixes to his name to Malinga. Burger remained unbeaten on 3 off 5 balls as RR were bowled out for 159 in 19 overs with 10 extras given by the fielding side. They fell short by 57 runs.

For SRH, the two stars of the show were two debutants. Praful Hinge started things off as he finished with 4/34 in 4 overs. Impact Player Sakib Hussain finished with 4/24 in 4 overs. Eshan Malinga chipped in with 2/31 in 4 overs. Shivang Kumar went for 28 runs in 3 overs. Nitish Kumar Reddy finished with 0/19 in 2 overs. Harsh Dubey finished with 0/22 in 2 overs. So, SRH wins this game by 57 runs and climbs up to 4th in the points table. Praful Hinge was awarded the Player of the Match Award.

What Lies Ahead

So, SRH are back and have climbed up to 4th in the points table, while RR stays at the top of the table despite the loss. RR next faces KKR over the weekend, while SRH have games as well. So, plenty to look forward to in this IPL 2026. Coming up next is the battle of bottom dwellers as CSK in 9th place takes on 10th place KKR in Chennai.
