During Sunday’s Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 match against India, Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for the Indian cricket team, cruelly mocked Pakistani cricket players for their provocative gestures. Sahibzada Farhan chose to celebrate with a rifle throughout the game after smashing his half-century.
Haris Rauf and Abhishek Sharma got into a fight, and he even made a ‘6-0′ sign to mock the supporters. The gestures infuriated Pathan, who proceeded to scold the two cricketers. The former Indian player went on to say that he was not taken aback by the gestures and that cricket fans would be startled to learn about the players’ backstage activities.
Pathan’s Fiery Take On The Celebrations
Irfan Pathan criticised Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf for their immature behaviour after becoming enraged by their actions. Irfan said on his YouTube channel on Monday night that he was not shocked by the gestures and that they were only the beginning.
“I wish to briefly discuss the celebrations. The tensions between the two sides are well known to you, Sahibzada Farhan. I also believed that Haris Rauf was a personable man. He and I met a few years ago in Australia. He made unnecessary gestures in the field yesterday. It reveals something about their personalities and their background,” Irfan Pathan said.
In the field, play cricket. It is so awful to go down to a personal level. Then you ask us to keep quiet about it, which is incorrect. However, I’m not at that shocked. They can accomplish these tasks. Fans would be astonished to learn of the horrors that happen behind the scenes, even though what they saw on TV was awful in and of itself,” he continued in his video.
The Rivalry Between India and Pakistan in a Wider Context
According to Irfan, Pakistan has a tendency to provoke battles on the field and then whine about the rival team’s behavior after they give it back. In addition, he made fun of Shahid Afridi, who had accused him of lying in one of his interviews.
“We Indians will talk about cricket endlessly unless you disturb us. Never do we start an act of hostility. However, assuming that we won’t respond to the things you initiate may be incorrect. In addition to using a bat, we will also use words to respond. Some former players find it difficult to process this,” Irfan Pathan said.
In a span of eight days, this was Pakistan’s second defeat against India. Pakistan was unable to stop India’s free-scoring style in either game. India had a spectacular start to their Super 4 campaign with the victory. However, Pakistan will have to get past the defeat and prepare for their team’s encounter against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, September 22.
