Asia Cup 2025: “Abhishek Sharma Has His Own Style”- Ajay Jadeja Lauds Dashing Batter’s Technique

Abhishek Sharma scored 30 off 16 balls before being dismissed by Junaid Siddique. Abhishek Sharma‘s knock also included three maximums and two boundaries. Out of the three, the first six came on the very first ball of India’s chase. With his first-ball six against Haider Ali, Abhishek Sharma  became the first Indian batter in the history of T20I cricket to hit a maximum on the first delivery of a run chase.

Team India kicked off their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a thumping nine-wicket win over the hosts United Arab Emirates on Wednesday in Dubai. Opting to bowl first, Suryakumar Yadav and co. bundled out UAE for just 57. It was a brilliant bowling spell from spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who took four wickets and leaked only seven runs in 2.1 overs. Later, India chased down the target in just 4.3 overs with Shubman Gill scoring 20* off just 9 balls. Apart from being on the winning side, India opener Abhishek Sharma also achieved a historic feat.

Ajay Jadeja added that this game was extra special for both Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill as they have grown up playing together.
“Growing up, you are a nuisance in your city, smashing your school teams for enjoyment. They have done it at the international cricket level, even if it is against the UAE. They would have envisioned themselves batting together and finishing games like this. This match would be memorable for them,” Jadeja said.
With India launching their Asia Cup 2025 campaign in such a dominating manner, Abhishek Sharma’s fearless knock highlighted, once again, the potential he has for the future. Team India after a thumping win over UAE will continue their Asia Cup campaign with a crucial contest vs Pakistan on Sunday September 14 and the Team would look to seal the Super 4s berth with a win in this match.
