Shreyas Iyer’s Highest score in IPL
Shreyas Iyer scored 97 runs yesterday in his debut match as a captain for PBKS. Punjab started well but slightly struggled a bit in the middle after that 2-wicket over from R Sai Kishore. Shreyas didn’t go into the shell but took the brave choice of counterattacking the spinners and he was successful in that as well. He kept the scorecard moving at a healthy run rate.
In the 17th over, the first ball of Prasidh Krishna hit him under the shoulders in his ribs. Shreyas Iyer held his neves, remained calm and smashed 24 runs of the remaining five deliveries. He remained not out in the 19th over at 97*. Shashank got the strike in the 20th over and smashed 22 runs and didn’t give strike to Iyer. Iyer didn’t worry about his century and put the team first before his personal records. He showed and selflessness and responsibility as a captain to put his team forward always.
