From June 2 ICC MEN’s T20 World Cup will begin and 20 teams have been participated. Nepal too has been part of the tournament. Since Nepal doesn’t play cricket regularly they left with some records behind them. Still, Nepal has been included in the tournament standing in 17th position in the ICC rankings. Sandeep Lamichhane was the only star player from Nepal who once played in IPL but later got into trouble arrested for a rape case in 2022.
The cop will play cricket
Nepal’s explosive batter Dipendra Singh Airee was a policeman but later he started playing cricket and now he is part of Nepal’s Cricket Team and will play their inaugural T20 World Cup. His confidence is very high and says will thrash every bowler. Dipendra Singh says:
“I will do my best to play a role to make the team victorious”, Airee told Nepal’s Kantipur Television earlier this month.
“I get motivated by the support I get from everyone,” he added.“They call me by the name ‘tiger’ and that motivates me further. It makes me want to do as much as possible, to give my 110 percent.”
Dipendra Chaudhary lauds Dipendra Singh Airee
Nepal’s chief selector Dipendra Chaudhary praises Dipendra Singh Airee. Despite being a cop his dream of playing for his country is fulfilled and he will shape Nepal’s Cricket in the upcoming future and will be an inspiration for all.
“His off-spin bowling is among the finest,” Chaudhary told AFP. “His fitness, work ethic, and team spirit stand out.”
“I believe when we look back he will be counted as one of Nepal’s best players in history”, Chaudhary added.
