Indian cricket team showed it to the World Cricket that they are no longer reliant on the star batter Virat Kohli (*had taken a leave) to beat a quality side like England. Yashasvi Jaiswal single handedly decimated England’s bowling line up. Yashasvi Jaiswal was in the beast mode who not only amassed 700 odd runs but created a fear factor amongst England’s bowlers.
India though can’t get complacent as the side still has a long way to become ICC World Test Champions 2023-25. The skipper Rohit Sharma didn’t panic especially when the openers Zak Crawley & Ben Duckett gave England a rollicking start. Zak Crawley & Ben Duckett were involved in five 50+ partnerships but the middle order couldn’t dictate the terms.
I must tell you nothing misses Rohit Sharma’s eyes- Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal was having an interaction with Indian Express. Yashasvi Jaiswal was quite impressed with skipper Rohit Sharma’s observation and said that it’s quite a fun to play along with him. Yashasvi Jaiswal pointed out that Rohit Sharma stands tall behind his team-mates. Yashasvi Jaiswal though said that he will keep learning from him.
“He came and told me that in that moment that shot is not on, it will be better to hit straight. So I was trying to hit straight. I must tell you nothing misses his eyes. He knows everything. That is the biggest quality. He is aware of things and what is going on. Alag level hai, it’s so fun to be around him,” said Yashasvi Jaiswal.
“The way he backed players throughout this journey, the way he talks, the way he bats. Whatever happens, he will be there to stand by you. I think it’s incredible to see that in your leader. I will keep learning from him,” he added.
Invincible India
Head coach Rahul Dravid & skipper Rohit Sharma won’t be able to believe that they buried England alive by playing smart cricket. The way the workload of Mohammed Siraj & Jasprit Bumrah was managed, it won’t be wrong to say that India national cricket team is in a better place under BCCI President Roger Binny.
It would be interesting to see whether KL Rahul gets a game straight away in the upcoming Test series as Sarfaraz Khan has made a strong case for himself in the middle order by smashing 3 half centuries and didn’t hesitate in playing attacking brand of cricket against the spinners and silenced all the critics who were questioning his place in the side by citing his weight.
