We are in the final stages of the Netherlands t20i Tri-series, Ireland has gained the top spot after beating Scotland on Thursday. Ireland has played outstandingly throughout the series and has dominated it.

Ahead of the T20 World Cup Ireland will give a tough fight to other teams. Full-time members need to be ready because this win has made them a straight qualification for the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Losing the toss trend continues

This series will be remembered for the losing toss trend it’s 4th time we have seen that losing the toss has benefited the opposition team. Scotland won the toss and opted to bat and the decision didn’t go with them. Losing the toss is the anytime best option and it gives the team to think wisely and plan accordingly.

Scotland failed to set the bar

After winning the toss Scotland expected that they would raise the bar high by scoring big runs but failed to their expectations. Despite having a good powerplay and steady start scored 57 runs which later turned into a low score and lost the momentum since then. Mathew Cross and Michael Leask were the only batters who stood and scored runs, Scotland managed to score 157 onboard which was below par score still it gained momentum because of them, or else the target would have been reached below 130.

Ireland bowlers rose at the occasion

Ireland was much more confident while bowling they showed their class once again. Mark Adair and Craig Young picked 3 wickets each and others Delany and Benjamin White picked 1 wicket each. Ireland has improved their bowling but some areas need to be practiced properly. Ireland in recent games bowling units have appreciated more so they can be threatful in the World Cup.

Good day at the office for Ireland batters

When Ireland came to bat it felt like they would chase the target easily and they did it. Andrew Balbirnie and Lorcan Tucker scored centuries and skipper Paul Stirling too had a great day with the bat which turnout Ireland on the winning side as they beat Scotland by 5 wickets. Andrew Balbirnie was adjourned as Man of the Match. The final match of the series will be between Ireland and hosts Netherlands.

Scotland’s bowlers failed to defend

While defending the target Scotland’s bowlers failed to perform and so the target was chased down with three bowls to spare. Christopher Sole was the only bowler who picked 3 wickets. Scotland bowlers need to practice more ahead of the World Cup and keep backup plans ready when triumph bowlers fail.
