Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) continued their winning run in IPL 2024 by defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). LSG won the match by a pretty decent margin of 28 runs and now have moved to the 4th position on the points table with 4 points from 3 matches. LSG’s lightning speedster Mayank Yadav stunned RCB’s batting line up. Mayank Yadav bowled a breathtaking spell as he took 3 wickets and gave away 14 runs in his 4 over spell.
Within a short span of time, Mayank Yadav has created a name for himself. Mayank got two massive wickets of the pinch hitters Glenn Maxwell & Cameron Green which changed the course of the match. All of a sudden, LSG is looking invincible as they have found a gem of a fast bowler in the form of 21 year old Mayank Yadav.
RCB on the other hand need to go back to the drawing board as they are way too much reliant on Virat, Faf & Maxwell. Now questions have started to raise over the place of the destructive batter Glenn Maxwell who is finding new ways to get out. It won’t be wrong to say that RCB doesn’t have Indian pool of talent due to which all of the pressure & burden comes on Virat Kohli.
Use Mayank Yadav’s pace and score behind the wicket- Steve Smith
Steve Smith was having an interaction with Star Sports expert panel. Steve Smith pointed out that Mayank Yadav hardly bowled any slower balls in his spell. Steve Smith suggested that the batters should use Mayank Yadav’s pace and score behind the wicket and play a scoop shot rather than playing another different shot.
”If you look at all those balls, there wasn’t one slower ball there, so you don’t have to worry about that at this stage. He might have it in his armoury, we haven’t seen it yet but you can probably trust to get inside the line or maybe give a bit of room and use the pace and let it come to you,” said Steve Smith.
