Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) continued their winning run in Tata IPL 2024 by decimating the invincible Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). It was the sheer brilliance of Sunil Narine which changed the complexion of the match. Sunil Narine took 1 wicket and smashed a belligerent knock of 47 runs in 23 balls which set KKR on fire.

KKR’s next challenge is against Delhi Capitals (DC) on 3rd April at Vizag. It looks unlikely that KKR will change their approach as going in with 3 spinners so far has been quite successful. Suyash Sharma might get a chance against DC as he along with Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine can form a deadly trio against DC.

It’s just the self belief and the support staff giving the encouragement- Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine was the player of the match for his all-round performance. During the post-match presentation, Sunil Narine gave the credit to the support staff for his rise especially in the powerplay overs. Sunil Narine pointed out that the players have been given full freedom to do what they want to do.

“It’s just the self-belief and the support staff giving the encouragement. Also the hard work. Powerplay over is the hardest over, you just have to let that go and keep it tight. Helps when you win. Players have full freedom to do what they want to do,” said Sunil Narine.

KKR on a Roll

KKR fans would be buoyed with the team’s performance after a near perfect performance against RCB. The side is gelling quite nicely under the mentorship of Gautam Gambhir as he can be seen doing a lot of hard work behind the scenes. He along with the head coach Chandrakant Pandit will be well aware of the fact that they need to make the most of this winning run.

The side though would be dejected with the performance of Mitchell Starc who once again was whacked all arounds of the park as he conceded 47 runs in his 4 over spell. Gautam Gambhir needs to have a word with Starc as his line & length are getting quite predictable and now KKR would be thinking of using another bowler at the death overs.
