Australian selector George Bailey expressed that facing India on their home soil is always a great challenge.

“It is always a great challenge to face India on their home soil. Most of the squad have extensive experience playing in Indian conditions; eight members of the current ODI World Cup 2023 squad, along with Tanveer Sangha, who is currently traveling as a reserve,” said George Bailey

“It is an experienced squad with a mixture of players who have had their first opportunity in the international arena and that we hope will continue to develop into important players in our T20 side,” he said.

George Bailey also talked about Matthew Wade as a good leader:

“Matthew Wade has captained the team on some occasions and is a leader in the group, and we look forward to him taking the reins for the series. Like Mitch Marsh in the South Africa series, this is another great opportunity to further deepen our international leadership experience,” he added.
