The first day of the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar series was highly dominated by the Australian batters owing to the comparatively flatter surface offered at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Ajit Agarkar was quite dejected with India’s bowling performance.
The pair of Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green put up a special show managing 104* (251) and (49* off 69) respectively to get skipper Steve Smith and Co get a good score of 255 for the loss of 4 wickets at the end of day 1.

“It is not easy for the bowlers but despite that…”- Ajit Agarkar
As Cameron Green’s counterattacking strategy handed Australia the advantage in the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Ajit Agarkar while having an interaction with Star Sports believes the Indian bowlers will be unhappy.
“Cameron Green is known for playing aggressively. When the ball was old as well, he tried to take chances against spin once or twice. But here I think the bowlers will be slightly disappointed. The batting was very good. He is extremely talented but if you see the first over from Umesh Yadav, there were a few loose deliveries. Maybe he was slightly stiff after standing the entire day in the heat, but Cameron Green didn’t waste that chance.” said Ajit Agarkar.

“I can understand that the ball doesn’t help you that much in the end, but if you have to be critical, probably the direction was not that good at the start, considering both of them are such experienced bowlers. They probably didn’t get the rhythm or couldn’t figure out what the pitch was doing.” he stated.
“When the conditions are favorable for batting in India, it is not easy for the bowlers, but despite that, Shami picked up two important wickets. They have more work ahead tomorrow, especially since the ball is still new.” he added.
A test for the history books!
Apart from the million fans, the Indian and Australian Prime Ministers were also in attendance to mark 75 years of India-Australia cricketing relations.
