Australian skipper and World Cup Champion Pat Cummins from last year has been on the seventh heaven conquering titles like retained Ashes, World Test Championship, and ICC Men’s ODI World Cup have dominated over the world. Pat Cummins has shaped the Australian team something different and so they are dominating like nothing and so their approach too has changed under Pat Cummins.
Pat Cummins recalls his mother’s words
Skipper Pat Cummins lost his mother when he was on an India tour for a test series. Pat Cummins couldn’t attend the final rites he recalls his mother’s words she said that ‘Go and take on the world’. Pat Cummins said:
“My mother told me ‘Pat, go and take on the world. Someone’s going to go and do these wonderful things, it might as well be you.”
Pat Cummins also mentioned that he feels very guilty as he didn’t get a chance to see his mother for the last time. Since he was on international duty he couldn’t be there with her.
“I knew when I was getting on that plane that I was going to have to come back in a couple of weeks pretty much. Flying away… That’s the hardest time of my life, easily. I probably felt it in the 12 months leading in. Any time I flew away I was like, ‘Time’s finite here, I’m making a deliberate choice to go and play somewhere rather than spend it at home’”.
But we feel her mother would be more blessed to have Pat Cummins as her child since he has truly conquered the world. Now he is on the way to face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final of IPL 2024. Can he turn the fortunes for the second time by lifting the title for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
