Australian cricket team would be booming with confidence after registering their maiden victory in ODI WC 2023. Skipper Pat Cummins rotated his bowlers smartly took 2 wickets in his 7 overs and conceded only 32 runs. Pat Cummins was quite keen on bowling wicket to wicket and cramped the batters for room.
Australia though would be worried as the star duo of David Warner & Steve Smith were dismissed cheaply in the run chase of 210 runs which is not a good sign. Both the batters were undone by the sheer brilliance of Dilshan Madushanka who not only bowled sheer pace but showed good control over his line & length.

Harbhajan Singh was having an interaction with Star Sports and was mightily impressed with Pat Cummins’ outing against Sri Lanka. Harbhajan Singh pointed out that in the previous matches, Pat Cummins was quite ordinary but looked like a completely different skipper against Sri Lanka and marshaled his troops smartly.
“We will praise him when he deserves to be praised because he did a praiseworthy job today. He looked ordinary earlier, so we couldn’t have said he was very good. He is a fantastic player but the performance was seen today (on Monday),” said Harbhajan Singh
“As a captain, when your own performance is good, your way of leading the team changes. You would have seen the way he used his bowlers, all the Australian bowlers looked in an attacking zone,” he added.
Pat Cummins an Asset
Skipper Pat Cummins didn’t panic even when the Lankan openers were off to a flyer and had scored 125 runs in 21.3 overs and once again the Aussies were looking powerless. Cummins took two key wickets of Nissanka & the ominous Kusal Perera which changed the complexion of the match.
Pat Cummins was seen having constant interactions with the bowlers and stood behind them in tough phases of the match. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers, the sly leg spinner took a 4 wicket haul and conceded 47 runs in his 8 overs and bowled a maiden over as well in his spell.
