“Playing for UP Warriorz is something that I thought about last year itself. I really liked the way they took the team and the fun they had on and off the field. Very excited to be playing the WPL- Vrinda Dinesh

The Indian team did not initially include Vrinda Dinesh in the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Cup. But was drafted into the team for the final, the young player made a crucial contribution of 36 as India emerged victorious.

Vrinda is not overly concerned about the possibility of players being given only a few chances to make an impact in franchise leagues around the world. Having played against England A in three T20 matches, she believes that these experiences will serve as a strong foundation for her future.

In regards to this, she said,

“I am very excited to be playing the WPL. There’s always been a bridge between domestic and international series. Now I have been a part of two series and now I know where I stand and what is required of me when I play,” said Vrinda Dinesh.

“The mindset is going to be the same in terms of me enjoying my cricket and batting the way I bat. But the experience that these two series have given me is going to make me better for the WPL,” he added.

Alyssa Healy and Vrinda Dinesh could both be selected as UPW openers, with Danny Wyatt potentially serving as an extra player.
