The former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly, lauds the spin trio of the team India after the sensational series win against England.

After India defeated England to win the five-match series at Ranchi, the deadly spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin became the talk of the town. According to the former Indian captain, all three players contributed equally, with one not outshining the other.

When questioned about his opinions of the spin trio, the former Indian captain Ganguly spoke with RevSportz and showered admiration on all three players.

“All-time great”- Sourav Ganguly praises spin maestro Ashwin

The seasoned spinner now regards himself as one of the greatest spinners of all time, with Anil Kumble and Muttiah Muralitharan, who have both surpassed the 500 wicket mark in their careers, after breaking through the barrier.

Sourav Ganguly did not hold back in praising Ashwin, who had just passed the 500 Test wicket mark, saying

“All-time great, all-time great offspring. 500 wickets is not a matter of joke.”

“Best all-rounder at the moment”- Ganguly on Ravindra Jadeja

The former president of the BCCI, Sourav Ganguly also praised Ravindra Jadeja, who has long served the nation with both bat and ball and is currently the top-ranked all-rounder in the longest format.

“Then you have Jadeja, the best all-rounder at the moment. Bat and ball in these conditions,” said Ganguly.

Ravindra Jadeja had scored 217 runs and taken 17 wickets in the ongoing series with England. Jadeja had scored 3021 runs in 104 innings with an average of 36.39 in the 71 tests he played. While with the ball, he has taken 292 wickets at an excellent economy of 2.47, including 13 five-fors.

“I think Kuldeep has come back immensely”- Ganguly impressed with the way Kuldeep made a comeback

The former captain also gave Kuldeep Yadav credit for his impressive return to form following a difficult period of poor form. He isn’t the test team’s first-choice spinner, but he’s made the most of his opportunities and performed well in the current series against England.

The Director of Cricket for the Delhi Capitals, Sourav Ganguly also added that,

“I think Kuldeep has come back immensely. He’s improved immensely. And I think with bowlers like Ashwin and Jadeja, he’s not been underdone by them. He’s made a mark of his in the series and will go on to play for India for a long period.”

In preparation for their final Test match against England in Dharamsala, the Indian squad will aim to win and accumulate points towards the World Test Championship.

The players’ next focus will be on the Indian Premier League and the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be held by the United States of America and the West Indies.
