RCB vs DC: DC’s Turbulent Win Over RCB Breaks A Lot Of Records

RCB lost their second home match in this season against DC. Their home-ground curse continues. Nothing goes well for the RCB franchise which has one of the biggest fan bases in IPL at Chinnaswamy except the fans’ support. The whole Chinnaswamy crowd was behind them, but they couldn’t deliver on the field.

RCB’s home ground curse

RCB has breached the fortress of three giants this season so far (CSK, MI, KKR). But they lost both the matches (GT & DC) they played at Chinnaswamy. They look like a completely different team away from home and are struggling to score runs on their home ground. They have the lowest home win percentage among all IPL teams.

RCB has now lost 45 matches at the Chinnaswamy stadium, which is the most by any team at their home ground. DC stands in second place with 44 losses at the Arun Jaitley stadium.

Back-to-back M.O.M award for KL

KL started this season with a fresh team and unleashed his beast version of 2018. He has played 3 matches and scored 185 runs with 2 back to back half half-centuries. He rejected the captaincy offer and decided to play freely with full intent.

But yesterday, the situation was different. DC lost some early wickets in a tricky chase, and the responsibility fell on KL Rahul’s shoulders to stay there and finish the match. He started slowly and took his time to settle into the crease. Once he got set, he shifted gears and punished the bad balls. DC were 99/4 after 14 overs. At the time, a few drizzles were coming in, and DC was 8 runs behind the DLS par score.

KL Rahul realized that and immediately shifted to the top gear. he smashed 22 runs of the 15th over bowled by Hazlewood and shifted the momentum completely. He portrayed his ability to shift gears according to the situation, which is a dangerous sign for other opponents.

KL Rahul has started to score runs consistently, and who knows, he might be a contender for the orange cap. KL Rahul’s unbeaten knock of 93 runs in 53 balls, including 7 fours and 6 sixes, was quite breathtaking to watch. DC chased down 164 target in 17.5 overs while earlier being in a spot of bother at 58-4 in 8.4 overs, which speaks volumes of the batting class of KL Rahul.

Costly spell by Axar Patel

Chinnaswamy pitch was unlike to its usual nature yesterday. The ball was held on the pitch and offered some turn as well. But, Axar Patel couldn’t use the assistance in the pitch. he was extremely expensive and bowled his joint-most expensive spell in IPL history of 4-52-0.

Axar Patel went for the same numbers against KKR in 2017. After 8 years, he has conceded more than 50 runs in a spell. While the wrist spinners bowled really well from both sides, finger spinners had a bad day. While the wrist spinners from both the teams combined have conceded only 74 runs in 13 overs, including the one over from Livingstone, while the left arm off-spinners have gone for 71 runs from their 6 overs.
