Pakistan Cricket team dictated the terms in the recently concluded Afghanistan ODI Series and won the 3-match ODI contest by 3-0. Kamran Akmal though feels that the Men in Green have a lot to ponder despite clinching the series. Kamran Akmal said that Pakistan’s batters need to play a fearless brand of cricket rather than old old-school one

Pakistan once again would be tested against a dangerous Indian side in Asia Cup 2023 which is scheduled on 02nd September. It won’t be wrong to say that Pakistan holds a slight edge against India as they played ODI Series against Afghanistan at Sri Lanka and at the same time we can’t rule out India as well who have named a powerful squad and would be roaring to make a mark after a forgettable Asia Cup 2022 tournament.

In modern-day cricket, every batsman has to play positively- Kamran Akmal

Kamran Akmal was seen speaking on his YouTube channel and was quite furious with the Pakistan cricket team even when the side registered a comfortable victory against Afghanistan in the 3rd ODI. Kamran Akmal pointed out that Pakistan’s batters need to play positively and questioned the Men in Green for their batting tactics when the side couldn’t score 300 against Afghanistan.

“In modern-day cricket, every batsman has to play positively. If we can’t score 300 against this team, can we do that when we face India in the Asia Cup? It becomes pretty difficult. It was a good practice opportunity for Pakistan team, we got a chance in two games to bat first and put on a big score,” said Kamran Akmal.

“The batters should’ve shown more responsibility, Yes, you scored 300 in the second game. But batters should’ve finished the game. It was a lower-order who finished the run-chase for you. It’s not a good sign for the Pakistan team,” he added.

Exciting Asia Cup 2023 on Cards

The Babar Azam led side is considered to be the red hot favorites for the championship commencing from 30th August at Multan. Pakistan have got a lethal pace attack in the form of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf & Naseem Shah who can be a force to reckon with on the given day.

The Men in Green though would be worried as their middle order looks fragile. We witnessed how the side almost made a mess of the run chase in the 2nd ODI against Afghanistan. The skipper Babar Azam will have to bat responsibly in the middle overs phase as the side doesn’t have the luxury of pinch hitters in the middle & lower order.
