The Hundred, Oval Invincibles won a mighty thriller match against Manchester Originals. Old Trafford witnessed something that happens quite rare a mighty thriller run chase.
Sam Curran stood once again for Oval Invincibles
Oval Invincibles were in great form in the last match they did wonder and so they continued in this match also. Openers gave a solid start Will Jacks scored 41 runs but couldn’t make it into fifty while once again Sam Curran came as a savior and scored 68 runs which included 6 monstrous sixes and with that, he took the team’s total to 164 but in the end Oval Invincibles lost 8 wickets, Sam Billings too played an important innings of 24 runs.
Set back for Manchester Originals bowlers
Manchester Originals received a huge setback as bowlers weren’t lucky enough to control the batters of Oval Invincibles. Every bowler went on conceding runs but they were able to pick wickets Scott Currie, Usama Mir, and Sikander Raza picked 2 wickets while Fazalhaq Farooqui picked 1 wicket. Bowlers were completely thrashed and there was no control over the nerves.
Manchester Originals came close but remained yet so far
Manchester Originals had severe pain while bowling so the challenge was to climb yet another mammoth target, though openers gave a solid start it wasn’t enough to pull off the target Phil Salt lost his wicket after scoring 34 runs while Matthew Hurst scored a brilliant fifty but later he too lost his wicket, as the game was moving ahead everyone predicted that it would go till the last ball. Paul Walter also contributed well scoring 28 runs and Jamie Overton scored 14 runs but in the end, Manchester Originals fell short by 3 runs which hurt them a lot as they came so close but remained so far.
Lucky Oval Invincibles bowlers
Oval Invincibles did their job brilliantly with the bat but the job wasn’t completed, bowlers need to give their everything and they pulled off a heist as the match was slightly shifting toward Manchester Originals but bowlers made a twist with the ball as every bowler contributed well and even they picked wickets, Adam Zampa, Sam Curran picked 2 wickets while Nathan Sowter and Will Jacks picked 1 wicket each and so they win by 3 runs, in the end, a great match witnessed by Old Trafford. Once again Sam Curran was adjourned as Man Of the Match.
