Pitch report and toss update

The surface of Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is ideal for batting since the ball falls onto the bat with ease. In the past, stroke players have performed admirably here.

This surface was two-paced, and spinners had expected to get greater success because of the turn and bounce that were present, but fast bowlers must have mixed their line well to succeed. The Karachi Kings chose to bowl first after winning the toss.

Quetta Gladiators lost wickets in quick succession

In the first over of bowling, Shoaib Malik gave up two boundaries to Jason Roy. Against Mir Hamza, Roy and Saud Shakeel each hit a boundary in the following over. Roy got caught by Hasan Ali at third man on the first delivery of Blessing Muzarabani’s third over, which proved to be the first breakthrough for the Karachi Kings.

Saud and Khawaja Nafay had a 47-run partnership at the second wicket; however, Hasan’s removal of both batsmen in the ninth over ended the stand with a gap of two deliveries. At deep midwicket, Saud holed one out to Shoaib, and Muzarabani caught Nafay at fine leg. Following a mix-up between the two batters, Anwar Ali, the substitute fielder, ran Sarfaraz Ahmed out in the 12th over.
