Finally, the Netherlands t20i tri-series came to an end, and Ireland won the last match of the series. Ireland had the upper hand throughout the series and didn’t fall short anywhere. Ireland shook everyone and felt that they were ready for the World Cup. Ireland made a statement through their performances and feels they will try to dominate in the World Cup.
Losing the toss trend continues
Throughout the series toss is the thing that is being trended and every time whoever wins the toss loses the match, in the last match Netherlands won the toss and opted to bowl which failed and they lost the match by just 3 runs. It’s the fifth time that any team has won the toss and lost the match.
Ireland dominates with the bat
Ireland had lost the toss which gave them the privilege to show some class with the bat and registered a good total onboard. The powerplay was decent and lost one wicket but later Ireland covered up and took the innings forward. Skipper Paul Stirling looked fresh as he scored 36 runs while the most important knock played by Dockrell was the highlight of the innings. Curtis Campher and Dockrell registered a half-century partnership which took the team’s total to 161.
Decent bowling by the Netherlands
The Netherlands was thrashed by Scotland in the last match, later then they didn’t get much time to recover and so in bowling also we didn’t see a much better performance. Only three bowlers were able to pick two wickets. The Netherlands needs to focus more on their bowling despite their bowling performance being good throughout the series.
Max ODowd’s half-century went in vain
After a decent bowling performance, the Netherlands restricted Ireland to 161 and the target was 162. After a steady start, Max ODowd played a crucial knock still it didn’t help the Netherlands to finish the hurdle and fell short by just 3 runs. Michael Levitt also played a decent yet slow innings of 39 runs in 34 balls.
Ireland used multiple options
While defending the target Ireland has their triumph bowlers skipper Paul Stirling used 8 bowlers eventually Ireland won the match by 3 runs just because they tried other options whether it’s executing properly or not checked by them still triumph bowlers bowled efficiently well. George Dockrell was adjourned as Man Of the Match.
