South African pace bowler Nandre Burger mentioned that he won’t mind whipping Virat Kohli if he gets the chance in the future. Burger who is currently playing IPL from the Rajasthan-based franchise made this revelation during a conversation with his mate Donovan Ferreira.
During the conversation with Ferreira, Burger was asked to mention a player, whom he would like to sledge. In response, the 28-year-old said that there was no particular player in his mind.
“I think there is no specific batsman I enjoy sledging. I just think I enjoy the competitive side of it,” Burger said.
Burger had quite a memorable experience in his debut Test series, especially going head-to-head with someone as formidable as Kohli. Burger couldn’t take his (Virat) wicket but managed to trouble Kohli with some good short deliveries and a little staredown.
That is when Kohli was heard saying, “Tereko 30 runs marunga ek over mai, [I will hit you for 30 runs in an over].”
Regarding this incident, Burger mentioned “I think in the India series last year, many people thought myself and Virat had a little thing which we actually didn’t. There was no sledging happening there. It was just stare-downs. But I think to get into a little sledging match with him would be fun. I think I would enjoy it.”
Ferreira gave a humorous reply to Burger regarding this comment.
The wicketkeeper-batter said, “I don’t know. Good luck.”
Burger was able to grasp the sarcasm behind his comment and was left in pieces.

On the other hand, Burger’s contribution with the ball for Rajasthan Royals, picking up seven wickets in six matches, highlights his ability to make an impact in the limited opportunities he’s had in the tournament.
