Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced each other once again for a classic encounter, Lucknow succeeded in chasing the target and grabbing 2 crucial points. Marcus Stoinis was the destroyer who smashed a breath taking ton against CSK. Marcus Stoinis seemed calm & composed even when the required run rate was in excess of 12 runs per over.

The hero of the match was Aussie’s season campaigner Marcus Stoinis who bolstered with the bat and scored 124* of 60 balls which is now the highest individual score of IPL in the run chase. Marcus Stoinis whose form was not up to the mark straight away went into record books with one such innings.

Marcus Stoinis is desperate to represent Australia again

The Chennai Super Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants match turned out to be and nail-biting match, since it was a close encounter Marcus Stoinis came as a storm and devastated Chennai’s hope. His blistering innings of 124 runs will be remembered for years in PL. As he was adjourned as man of the match and in a post-match presentation he mentioned the snub of the annual contract and desperate to play T20 World Cup. Since he delivered a statement through his innings through this knock I’m there and going nowhere else. He also said that he is fine if some youngsters seal their spots and make a way for themselves.

His role would be very important for Australia in this upcoming T20 World Cup as Maxwell is out of form and Warner took retirement so to balance the squad Marcus Stoinis is the strong contender for this, and being an all-rounder his impact would be beneficial in both batting and bowling too. Despite his contract being snubbed but board and team management need to decide on this and come up with a strong decision.

“I’ve got a great relationship with the [Australia] coach. Me not getting a contract, I knew that a while ago. I think it is great to give younger kids a crack and let them take my spot. I’m fine with that on the contact list. But on the playing front, obviously want to make sure that I’m there and that’s also why it’s so lucky for us and me particularly to have this competition [the IPL], that’s why I love it so much.”

Lucknow struggled in powerplay as they lost both their openers early. The match was at that where Chennai could win it easily but Aussie’s all-rounder  Marcus Stoinis out of nowhere played an outstanding knock and won the match for Lucknow. To dethrone Chennai in Chennai is not easy. Both teams struggled in fielding and seem to need to focus more on that department. Chennai’s skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad also scored a century but it went in vain as he became the first captain to smash a century for Chennai. Chennai lost their second consecutive match and needs to bounce back stronger.
