5-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) finished second-time bottom of the table as they ended their campaign on a losing note against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Skipper Hardik Pandya failed as a captain to lead the team well as they managed to win just 4 matches out of 14 matches. Hardik Pandya was booed in the stadium and didn’t get the support that much so it cost them badly and had a very bad season. Despite looking very strong team on paper failed to perform in matches.
Aaron Finch slams Mumbai Indians (MI)
Former Aussie captain and T20 World Cup winner Aaron Finch slams Mumbai Indians for their poor performance in the season. Fans lost their hope when Hardik was made captain by replacing Rohit Sharma, fans booed in the stadium against Hardik Pandya and so it affected the team’s performance as well. Only Jasprit Bumrah showed his form scalping 20 wickets and Rohit and Surya scored one century each. Aaron Finch said:
“There will be a lot of fallouts. It was a disappointing campaign. The one thing that alarmed me slightly was Mark Boucher saying that the off-field issues clouded Hardik Pandya’s decision-making on the field. That’s the coach’s job that you are crystal clear going out to each game. You should be so well planned and prepared that you thought through every scenario possible. So when it’s time, one of the moves you discuss is well and truly thought out,” Finch said.

“It wasn’t great hearing all the boos. Certainly, I felt sorry for Hardik as well. It’s never nice to go through something like that. So yeah, there are certain things we need to address. And we are going to address them,” Boucher said after MI ended their IPL 2024 season with a loss against Lucknow Super Giants.
“Now is not probably the right time. Everyone is very disappointed and emotional, so no good decision will be made in the nearest sort of time. We need to go back. We need to evaluate exactly what’s going on,”
