Rajasthan Royals (RR) won the eliminator by defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and was knocked out of the tournament. Rajasthan Royals will now face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Chennai’s M.A. Chidambaram stadium for qualifier 2.

It’s a semi-final and both teams will be looking to grab that situation and enter into the final of IPL 2024. Since Rajasthan Royals lost four matches earlier in the league stages they gained confidence after the win against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, on the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad had to face a loss against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in qualifier 1.

Varun Aaron advises Pat Cummins

Former Indian bowler turned commentator Varun Aaron has some advice for Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the clash they should add an extra spinner in the XI, spinners like Mayank Markande, Washington Sundar, etc. have potential enough to spin on Chennai’s track. Everyone knows that Chennai has a slow track and the pitch will be dry so spinners will be more beneficial. Varun Aaron said:

“Rajasthan Royals has been the favorite to win this tournament right from the start, especially at Cheapauk the spin will play a very big role.

“The Sunrisers don’t have a decent spin attack. If they want an edge then they should bring in Markande and Markram, you get one part-time off-spinner and one experienced Indian leg spinner. The third one is a wildcard option in the form of Washington Sundar. It’s his home ground and he’ll look to prove a point.”

Varun Aaron advised Ravichandran Ashwin

Varun Aaron further advised season campaigner Ravichandran Ashwin to stick to his lengths and he was adjourned as the Man Of the Match in the eliminator. Today he will be playing in his home ground so he knows the conditions pretty well.

“Ashwin is a quality spinner, one of the best off-spinners in the world. He should stick to off-spin [not experiment] because he has enough tendency to dismiss both Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. If he goes defensive, he might not go for runs but is unlikely to get wickets. In big matches, wickets always outweigh the economy.”
