Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) fans would be over the moon as the side now has won 2 matches on the bounce and are looking invincible. CSK under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad have looked flawless as so far he has marshalled his troops smartly. Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed a decent knock of 46 runs in 36 balls and struck 5 fours and 1 six against Gujarat Titans (GT) and was slowly getting into the groove.

The biggest positive for CSK though was the swashbuckling left handed batter Shivam Dube who played a fine knock of 51 runs in 23 balls and smashed 2 fours and 5 huge sixes and it seemed as if he was on a mission to dictate the terms. Shivam Dube overcome his short ball nemesis and was in the beast mode against GT.

I got to look at MS Dhoni Bhai and Ruturaj Gaikwad For Field Placements- Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar was having an interaction with Jio Cinema and Suni Gavaskar who was commentating asked the pacer that whom does he look for fielding instructions after the change in leadership from MS Dhoni to Ruturaj Gaikwad. Deepak Chahar was pretty happy for the speedsters that two bouncers are allowed per over.

“I got to look at Mahi (MSD) bhai and at Ruturaj – both of them these days for field placements and all. So there is a bit of confusion about where to look now but Ruturaj is doing well and he is leading the way,” said Deepak Chahar.

“Earlier, if you bowled a bouncer in the first 2-3 balls, batters were always ready for a full-length ball, but this new rule with two bouncers allowed in an over, it helps all the pacers. There’s bounce always, but there’s not much dew around at the moment. The ball grips and bounces in such conditions,” he added.

Delight for CSK

CSK trounced GT by a massive margin of 63 runs and now the defending champions have a whooping NRR (Net Run Rate) of +1.979. The peculiarity of CSK was that they didn’t allow any batter to settle down and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad’s decision to introduce Daryl Mitchell did wonders for the team as he got the key wicket of Vijay Shankar.

CSK though would be considering bringing back the mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana as he has got the ‘X’ factor in him and can be deadly against Delhi Capitals (DC) on 31st March at Vishakhapatnam. CSK fans though would be hoping that they see their ‘Thala’ MS Dhoni come to bat as against GT, CSK promoted Sameer Rizvi up the order who played a mind boggling cameo which stunned everyone.
