Delhi Capitals’ (DC) fans would be hoping that the destructive left handed batter Rishabh Pant makes a terrific comeback in the upcoming IPL 2024 edition. Rishabh Pant had a heart-wrenching accident which shook the world cricket. Rishabh Pant is one of the best batters across all the 3 formats of the game and his absence hurt the Men in Blue a lot.

India badly missed the services of Rishabh Pant in ICC World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23) final as he is someone who is intrepid and fearless in his approach and at the same time can also frustrate the opposition by playing the waiting game. Pant is also a smart wicket-keeper who often can be seen encouraging the spinners behind the stumps.

India should not go back to Rishabh Pant quickly- Brad Hogg

Brad Hogg was seen speaking on his You Tube channel and stated that India national cricket team should not rush Rishabh Pant to the national setup. Brad Hogg pointed out that the management & NCA should make sure that Rishabh Pant’s body can withstand the ability to smash the bowlers.

“I think they will keep with Jurel and not go back to Pant quickly. I think they will make him go and play some first-class cricket in the longest format so that they make sure his body can withstand it and make sure from a batting perspective he still has the ability that he had before the accident.  I really hope that Pant gets back to playing Test cricket, but I feel it is a huge risk if they rush him back,” said Brad Hogg.

Key Tournament for Delhi Capitals

According to sources with knowledge, it is believed that David Warner will continue to lead the DC side as Rishabh Pant is still not 100% fit. It would be interesting to see how the wicket at Delhi would be as last time, DC’s coaching staff had raised the voice that they didn’t get the surface according to their strengths.

The main problem for DC has been that they haven’t been able to capitalize on the winning run. All eyes will be on the flamboyant all-rounder Axar Patel who was fighting the lone battle with both bat & ball. Perhaps, the management should promote him up the order as the left handed batter has got a wide range of shots.
