Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) fans would be hoping that Andre Russell peaks at the perfect time. Recently, the batter was in a beast mode against England in the T20I series. If Andre Russell plays his natural game then he can play a breezy knock of 70 odd runs in 30 balls which can change the course of the match and he also can bowl at the death overs which is priceless.

It won’t be a bad idea if Andre Russell gets promoted at No.3 position as he can dismantle the opposition with his turbulent shots and it allows him to play fearlessly. The main problem with Russell is that he gets into the shell by playing a string of dot balls which is a huge concern for the team.

No one is scared of Andre Russell in the IPL- Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was seen speaking on his You Tube channel. Aakash Chopra made a huge remark that no opposition captain fears the flamboyant all-rounder Andre Russell. Aakash Chopra pointed out that the Caribbean pinch hitter can re-establish that fear if he suddenly starts striking the ball like the old Russell who used to be vintage and in a beast mode.

“To be honest, we have never said this previously, but let’s say it now, it’s an opportunity for Andre Russell because his stature and fear have gone down slightly. No one is scared of him now in the IPL. So this season can once again establish that fear if he suddenly starts striking the ball and matches the good old Andre Russell,” said Aakash Chopra.

Dangerous Andre Russell

Andre Russell in one of his interviews had said that he would love to play his last IPL game for KKR and he also had said that . The newly appointed mentor Gautam Gambhir will have to manage the workload of Russell smartly as his knee injury often sidelines him for matches

Russell will be aware of the fact that IPL 2024 edition is considered to be the stepping stone ahead of the much hyped ICC T20 WC 2024. Russell will have to perform consistently as the mentor Gautam Gambhir won’t give him a long rope as Gambhir is someone who believes in results and is very strict regarding performance.
