Rajasthan Royals (RR) beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the eliminator of IPL 2024. The momentum that RCB had kept winning 6 matches in a row finally ended and they got eliminated from the tournament. Sanju Samson would be quite relieved after the side finally ended their 4 match losing streak.

Rajasthan Royals had lost all four matches before playing the eliminator and the last match against Kolkata Knight Riders was washed out due to rain. Still, they managed to keep their hopes high and booked the Qualifier 2 seat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Sanju Samson says some players are not fit

After a must-win match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in an eliminator of IPL 2024 Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson shared some updates on his team players.

“What cricket and life have taught us is we will have some great days, we will have some really bad days. Important to bounce back. The way we batted, bowled, and fielded, I am really happy. All the credit has to go to the players,” Samson said at the post-match presentation.

“We look at the field set and planning, the credit has to go to Sanga (Kumar Sangakkara) and the team of support staff for discussing tactics. Ashwin and Avesh bowled tremendously well. If you look at our batting unit, there are a lot of youngsters. They are 22 years old, they are less experienced but they played well,” he added.

“A few of us are not 100%. I’m not 100%. There is a bug in the dressing room, lots of coughs, and a lot of people are a bit unwell. But we have the momentum now, so the dressing room is confident,” he said.

Despite all of this they played efficiently well and showed that spirit is the most important key to success and hard work always pays off. Rajasthan Royals was yet to win a match in May but they rose on the occasion of the eliminator and knocked out Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Skipper Sanju Samson is also included in the squad of the T20 World Cup he should keep in mind that and form should be consistent which may help him in the USA while playing if and then includes him in the playing XI.

Now Rajasthan Royals will face Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chennai’s M.A. Chidambaram stadium on May 24th and whoever wins will face Kolkata Knight Riders in the final on May 26.
