Australia Roar In A Grand Fashion

At Patiala’s ground the stage was set,

India won toss, chose to bat, no regret.

Fifty overs ahead, dreams to chase,

281 they built, with fight and grace.

Pratika Rawal, patient, still,

Sixty-four runs, with measured will.

Ninety-six balls, six times she struck,

Her wicket fell at one-forty-two, bad luck.

Smriti Mandhana, elegant, keen,

Fifty-eight off sixty-three, strokes serene.

Six fours, two sixes, her blade did sing,

But run out sharp by Litchfield’s fling.

Harleen Deol, composed at the crease,

Fifty-four off fifty-seven, a fluent release.

Four boundaries, two over ropes she sent,

Stumped by Healy, Schutt the bowler’s intent.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur came fast,

Eleven off nine, but her stay didn’t last.

Sutherland’s ball trapped her pad in line,

India at 161 for three, still fine.

Jemimah Rodrigues—eighteen from twenty-six,

One boundary marked her battling mix.

Caught by King off McGrath’s short ball,

India stumbled but stood tall.

Richa Ghosh, fiery flair,

Twenty-five runs with fearless air.

Two fours, a six, at one-twenty-five strike,

But Schutt removed her — bowler’s delight.

Deepti Sharma—twenty not out,

Quickfire runs, no hint of doubt.

Radha Yadav, nineteen with speed,

But Perry caught her—Garth took the lead.

At the end, Charani two from two,

Extras ten, innings through.

281 for seven they made,

Australia’s chase ahead was laid

Now came the Aussies, strong reply,

With Healy blazing under the sky.

Twenty-seven runs from twenty-three,

Five crisp fours for all to see.

But Kranti Goud found timber proud,

India roared, the crowd was loud.

Then rose Phoebe Litchfield, young and grand,

Eighty-eight runs with a fluent hand.

Fourteen fours, no six in play,

Caught off Rana, but she owned the day.

Ellyse Perry—thirty from thirty-eight,

Three fours, one six, but then twist of fate.

Retired hurt, her bat laid down,

Yet Mooney and Sutherland seized the crown.

Beth Mooney, anchor strong,

Seventy-seven runs, steady and long.

Seventy-four balls, nine fours she steered,

Unbeaten, calm, the chase appeared.

Annabel Sutherland, fifty-four not out,

Six fours struck, no trace of doubt.

Together with Mooney, an unbeaten stand,

Victory sealed by Australia’s hand.

282 for two in forty-four overs,

Eight wickets spare, like seasoned rovers.

Thirty-five balls left in the chase,

Australia triumphed with poise and grace.

India’s bowlers — Rana one,

Ten overs, fifty-one, her job well done.

Kranti Goud with eight for fifty-five,

One key strike kept hope alive.

Charani, Radha, Deepti tried,

But runs kept flowing, none denied.

Economies soared, wickets few,

Australia’s batters simply flew.

For India’s bat, Rawal shone bright,

Mandhana stylish, Harleen’s fight.

For Australia’s side, the honors clear,

Phoebe Litchfield — Player of the Match this year.

So ends the tale at Patiala’s ground,

Where runs and wickets both were found.

India fought hard, but Aussies prevailed,

By bat and blade, their glory unveiled.
