IND vs WI: “It Does Not Happen Every Day That A Youngster Plays His First Test And Scores A Century” – AB De Villiers Praises Yashasvi Jaiswal For His Sensational Debut

Playing his first-ever international match for India, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal made the most of the opportunity by smashing a match-winning hundred in the opening Test match between India & West Indies. Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s 171, complemented by captain Rohit Sharma’s ton and Ravichandran Ashwin’s 12 wickets meant that the West Indies were handed a humbling defeat of an innings and 141 runs in the first Test match at Windsor Park in Dominica.

Former South African captain AB de Villiers showered praises on the youngster for his standout performance to mark his entry into the international cricket scene. AB recalled his time in the IPL where he saw Jaiswal bat for the first time, and he had observed something special in the way the youngster was facing the ball. Jaiswal also broke the record for most balls faced by a debutant.

AB de Villiers was giving his analysis of the match on his You-Tube Channel and marked Jaiswal as a special talent for his ball-playing ability against both Spin and Pace. He said that he was feeling happy to have seen the youngster score a hundred on his debut and will be in hot pursuit going into the future.

“The first time I saw him play in the IPL, I knew there was something special about him. You could look at him and feel how much time he has to face the ball,” said AB de Villiers.

The 21-year old batter broke many records on his way to 171*, he became India’s 17th batter to score a century on a Test debut and 5th youngest to get to 150 on test debut. Yashasvi Jaiswal was also named Man of the Match for his scintillating showcase.

“He is a very talented youngster, a very hot prospect for the future for Team India and I am happy to see him score that century in that match,” he added.
