IND vs WI: “I Don’t Think There Will Be Drastic Changes” – Rohit Sharma Considers Fielding Similar Lineup Despite Unpredictable Weather

The Rohit Sharma-led side dismantled West Indies in their backyard. India’s victory was propelled by tons from both the openers – Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma, who put the hosts on the backfoot earlier on. Ravichandran Ashwin spurned the web around the West Indies bagging 12 scalps across both innings, with a fifer in each.

The West Indies had an outing to forget, as they were bowled out in both innings, wrapping up the test in less than 3 days. The second test in Port of Spain is marred by unpredictable weather conditions and has left the teams with some considerations before zeroing in on a final team.

Rohit Sharma was having an interaction with the media before the Second Test match and said that decisions regarding the playing eleven would be taken accordingly based on the conditions available despite the rain forecast.

“In Dominica, we had a clear idea when we saw the pitch and knew the conditions. Here we don’t have clarity as there is talk of rain, but I don’t think there will be drastic changes,” said Rohit Sharma.

Indian bowlers were top of the mark in the first test, with the spin duo of Ashwin and Jadeja leading the pack with more than 60% of the team’s wickets. There are speculations of replacements in the bowling unit,  Navdeep Saini and Mukesh Kumar are in contention to make it into the playing XI. Apart from that, Allrounder Axar Patel is also on the lookout in the lineup.

“Transition has to happen, whether today or tomorrow but I am happy that our boys who are coming in are doing well. And our role is important as we have to give them role clarity,” he added.

Rohit had faith in these youngsters and kindled them to take Indian Cricket to great heights.

“… And we rely on those individuals and obviously they are the future of Indian cricket and they will take Indian cricket to greater heights,” Rohit said
