Indian cricket team would be crestfallen after losing the 2nd T20I match where they were taken to the cleaners while defending 150 odd runs in 15 overs. Arshdeep Singh was targeted by Proteas’ batters. Arshdeep Singh wasn’t able to trap the batters by bowling inswingers which hurt the team.
The Proteas didn’t miss the services of Quinton de Kock as Reeza Hendricks played a barnstorming knock and was in sublime touch. The trio Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen & David Miller played according to their credentials and played impactful knocks.
Arshdeep Singh even struggled against Australia- Parthiv Patel
Parthiv Patel was having an interaction with Cricbuzz. Parthiv Patel came in support of the team and stated that defending was never going to be easy against a quality South African batting line up. Parthiv Patel was concerned about the form of Arshdeep Singh who has been at the receiving end.
“That is something that India will have to think about. If your bowler has gone for a few runs, if you don’t have another option or a sixth bowling option, like today’s case where Arshdeep Singh went for 31 off two overs, it was always going to be difficult to defend that total,” said Parthiv Patel
“He has done well in the IPL and for India. He has been the highest wicket-taker since he made his debut. Even when he was playing in the series against Australia, he struggled a bit. Today, when players came in with a free-flowing mindset in just a 15-over game, they were always going to attack him,” he stated.
“I don’t think it is a concern, but obviously, India would want a left-armer who can bring it in. That’s always a luxury to have. We have seen him getting out Babar Azam first ball when he was swinging it in. Worry is the inswing, which is not there,” he added
